Diagnosis and taxonomic notes (MOB). C. obstataria and C. imbuta Warren are smallish rather uniform red species that could be confused with members of the Trirachopoda section of Perixera Meyrick but the discal spots lack pale centres, being more transverse dashes. The male hind-tibia is not shortened and tufted as in that section. This species can only reliably be distinguished from imbuta by the male genitalia, a process that led to recognition that imbuta Warren was distinct. The red ground colour may be a little deeper in imbuta but this is not fully reliable.
