
Taxonomic Information
Thymistida Walker, 1865 species known from India (Joshi et al 2020.).
Thymistida nigritincta Warren, 1923. India: NE India, Khasis (Watson, 1968); N. Burma (Watson, 1968).
Thymistida tripunctata Walker, 1865. India: Sikkim (Hampson, 1892), NE India, Arunachal Pradesh (Chandra & Sambath, 2013), (Sondhi et al 2021); Burma, China (Watson, 1968), Nepal (Wilkinson, 1972; Yazaki, 1992).
Thymistida undilineata Warren, 1923. India: NE India, Khasis (Warren, 1923;Watson, 1968).

Note: The three species can be separated by examining the pectinations of the antennae of the male, extent of concavitiy below apex of FW and the shape of the FW costa. See notes below.
Thymistida tripunctata is readily separated from the similarly marked nigritincta by the much larger antennal pectinations in the male (longest pectination equal to over twice greatest width of eye), the less sinuous costa of the fore wing, and by the male and female genitalia.
Thymistida undilineata does not have the produced apex, prominently concave below the apex, which is present in Thymistida tripunctata and Thymistida nigritincta.
Thymistida nigritincta can be distinguished from tripunctata by the shorter antennal pectinations in the male (longest pectination equal to about three quarters greatest width of eye), the distinctively shaped costa of the fore wing (FW costa is sinuous) and by the male and female genitalia.
