Rhimphalea trogusalis has a larger eye-spot comprising a complete black disc, with central white spot, whereas in ochalis it is incomplete. Rhimphalea trogusalis has a more yellowish ground colour and a broader dark brown stripe close to termen of the forewing (Robinson et al 1994).
