Note: Schistophleps bipuncta (Hampson, 1891), Schistophleps hyalinata Kirti & Gill, 2008 and Schistophleps pentoveinlata Kirti & Gill, 2008, all occur in S. India. These species are best separated by examining the veinlets between vein sc and the costa. Schistophleps pentoveinlata Kirti & Gill, 2008 have five veinlets while Schistophleps hyalinata Kirti & Gill, 2008 have two veinlets. These veinlets cannot be ascertained from photographs alone. Till further investigations reveal otherwise, the NE Himalayan populations are treated as Schistophleps bipuncta (Hampson, 1891) (pers. comm. by SS with Navneet Singh on 15 Nov. 2021).
